REPUBLICAN EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

I would ask you consider voting for me for the volunteer position on the West Virginia State Republican Executive Committee. I am currently serving on this Committee from the 3rd Senatorial District. For those who don’t know, the Committee basically sets the agenda for the party platform; meets twice a year; sometimes involved in filling vacancies due to death or resignation.

Your vote in Ritchie, Wood, Wirt and Pleasants County would be appreciated.

RICK MODESITT SUPPORTS TOURISM

Tourism is a vital component to the West Virginia economy, and Wood County should be an active partner. With Henderson Hall, The Juliann Square Historic District, The Blennerhassett Museum, The Oil & Gas Museum, Blennerhassett State Park, The Historic Blennerhassett Hotel, Mountwood Park, The Art Center, The Actors Guild, the fun waterways, the Multi Cultural Festival and other fairs and festival events….Wood County has a lot to offer!

Tourism creates jobs! Tourism creates employment opportunities! Tourism benefits local businesses and improves the quality of life for our citizens.

If elected, I will support tourism in the Mid Ohio Valley and Wood County!

I WILL SHOW UP FOR WORK!

To run for public office, you need to be capable and willing to show up for work, including the vast number of meetings which occur outside the normal Commission meetings. Each Commissioner is assigned 6 or so Committees to serve on. They are suppose to attend the meetings, and then report back to the other Commissioners as to the status or needs of those “arms of local government”.

It is disappointing to see the my opponent missed most of his meetings. Records were obtained from each entity. My opponent missed nearly 100 meetings over the first 5 years of his 6 year term.

Obviously, there were likely some legitimate missed meetings, such as family emergency or sickness. It goes without saying, those would certainly be excused.

However this is a pattern of missed meetings over 5 years. Totally unacceptable.

If elected, I promise I will show up for work! (including any Committee assignments I might be assigned to!)

Promise made….promise will be kept!
